We are pleased to announce that Orient Logic has participated in an event Quarkus for IoT Hackfest hosted by multinational corporation Red Hat from April 12 to May 17.
It is noteworthy that the event was attended by more than 10 leading European partner companies of Red Hat.
During the Hackfest period, the Orient Logic team actively worked on the development of an IoT sensor that measures air pollution and harmful gases. Microservices were written using Python and Quarkus that periodically transmit information to the Central Data Platform for further analysis and processing.
Many modern open source technologies have been used in the platform, including:
• Infrastructure - Red Hat OpenShift
• Message Broker - Red Hat AMQ (Kafka)
• Databases - PostgreSQL, Influx DB
• Data Visualization - Grafana
• Platform Backend - Quarkus
Quarks - Supersonic Subatomic Java is a full-stack, Kubernetes-native Java framework made for Java virtual machines and native compilation, optimizing Java specifically for containers and enabling it to become an effective platform for serverless, cloud, and Kubernetes environments.
The solution developed by us was selected as one of the best in terms of scaling, configurability, and flexibility by experts in the field, and took second place in the competition.
